I was born in Hebburn but these days live in Gateshead with my hubby, two children and two boisterous Golden Retrievers; George, seven and Henry, who is one year old.
Anyone who knows anything about this breed will understand I am constantly surrounded by dog hair and my legs always have bruises from their wagging tails.
Not that I would change a thing about either of them. When I am not writing about dogs, cleaning up after dogs, I am walking miles with them along the beautiful Northumberland coast.
I’m nuts about dogs and believe they are part of the family, that’s why I would never leave them behind when I go on holiday.
I go on about five dog-friendly holidays each year from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands, where I can spend time with my loved ones and my babies can run and play to their heart’s content.
When I booked my first trip almost twenty years ago, it was tricky trying to find accommodation that would accept pets, but nowadays there are hundreds if not thousands and thanks to sites like this, it’s really easy to find the perfect place.
Even better, more and more attractions, café’s and pubs are realising business is better when you allow dogs; even shops are starting to follow suit, though I’m not sure my hubby will be happy about that.
That’s why I love writing for DFG and sharing places where you can have a relaxing break and spend quality time with your fur babies all over the UK.
