Walk, cycle, swim or drive to experience local landmarks like Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, the Farnes, Alnwick, several national parks and nature reserves on your doorstep.

About Waterside

Sleeping six across two floors to accommodate ages and abilities, a double bedroom on the ground floor next to a bathroom with WC, handrail and basin, a master double upstairs with ensuite and Juliet balcony, plus another double with access to a proper bath, shower cubicle, WC and basin.

Open plan layout downstairs with wooden flooring, comfy furnishings from sofas to padded chairs around the dining table, flat-screen tv and a wood burner in its own brick fireplace.

Naturally lit throughout, floor to ceiling glass doors opening out onto the decking with furniture for alfresco dining, and off-road parking for two cars.

Things To Do in Beadnell

There is a pond on-site next to Waterside, hence its name, so your nature-loving guests will have plenty to enjoy before going anywhere else. Also on site are two private tennis courts for sporty types. Access to the nearby beach is by foot only, and this is only a few minutes walk away. Beadnell Bay is very popular for kite surfing, paragliding, sailing, scuba diving and surfing. Those who just like the clean sea air can walk the dog along the sands while the others get on with it.

Beadnell is part of the Northumberland Heritage Coast AONB, which hosts a walking path stretching from Berwick upon Tweed in the north to Amble in the south. There are many visitors centres along this reserve, with rest areas, open-air dining and eating to help enjoy the views. One of the best is Dunstanburgh Castle, a 14th-century ruin maintained by the National Trust with its own picnic area. You can enjoy fish and chips at many villages up and down the coast, from Warkworth to Seahouses.

Seahouses is also the place to book boat trips to the Farne Islands, which house a protected puffin colony – a world heritage site. Bamburgh Castle is to the north, next to the causeway over to Holy Island, home of the legendary monks who make Lindisfarne Mead. Alnwick is a short drive inland to the south and has everything a buzzing modern town should, as well as a gardened castle where a real Duke (of Northumberland) lives and a fictional wizard (Harry Potter) went to school.

Test yourselves against the elements in and around the sea, or just inhale the air as you walk along the dunes and cliffs which make up the Northumberland Coast AONB.
