Sleeping six comfortably in a family home, four upstairs bedrooms, one master double with tv and en suite shower room, another double, a bedroom suitable for a single guest, and one with bunk beds for little ones.

Stylish, comfy leather sofa and armchair in the naturally lit sitting room with neutral coloured shag-pile carpet and flat-screen tv, ultra-modern kitchen a few steps away via the knocked through wall.

Outside to the front is on-street parking for two cars and a lawned garden with a bench seat to enjoy the sun. There is also a back garden with raised, paved patio for alfresco suppers under the Northumbrian sky, with the North Sea horizon stretching out over the rooftops.

Things To Do in Seahouses

Seahouses is a coastal town that feels like a village, with a vibrant fishing industry and unique atmosphere. Kings Field is in the heart of the town and only a short walk away from the pubs, eateries and shops which thrive throughout the year. Take the dog down to the harbour and sample the fish and chips, with the cod or haddock just out of the sea. Take advantage of the guided walks available for those who might appreciate a gentle look at the local scenery and village history.

Seahouses is part of the Northumberland Coast AONB, which stretches from the River Tweed to Warkworth, Amble and the Coquet to the south. As well as superb clifftop and beach walks, stunning views and rare birdlife, the AONB houses Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh Castles, which have their own guided tours depending on the season. A healthy walk or short drive to the north is Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and the castle, priory, and mead for which Holy Island is famous.

There is a regular boat service from Seahouses to the Farne Islands, yet another nature reserve and home of the famous puffin colony. A half-hour drive westwards finds you in the heart of Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest Park, the latter home to some of the last dark skies in Europe, not to mention fishing, hiking, and many other wild pursuits. The border towns of Kelso, Hawick and Jedburgh are all a very scenic drive away across the Cheviot Hills.

Number 3 Kings Field is a family home away from home, in the heart of a thriving community high on the Northumbrian coast. This part of England is much closer to Scotland than Newcastle upon Tyne and has a feel all of its own. Perhaps not for the faint-hearted due to its exposed location, nevertheless the rewards of a stay in Seahouses will remain for a lifetime.

Enjoy the stunning views, walks and cycleways with the fresh sea air in your lungs, up and down the Northumberland Coast AONB, which is sure to tire out even the most energetic party, however many legs they’ve got. Refuel on locally caught fish with homemade chips for lunch, take some selfies by Bamburgh lighthouse and Castle. Drive south to Alnwick and visit Hogwarts, head north to Berwick upon Tweed and even Edinburgh, a very manageable drive to the northwest.

Visit the attractions at Kielder and the vast Northumberland National Park, and stay up at night to witness more stars than most people will ever see. Lose yourself in history over at Holy Island, or enjoy the company of one of the world’s great puffin colonies on the Farnes. Come home at night to your own private patio for a nice supper before everyone goes to bed happy, ready for tomorrow.
