The eastern stretch of Robin Hood Bay is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and spending a day at the beach. There’s a 2.7-mile coastal walk that you can start from station car park. You won’t find things like amusements and other things you would see at traditional UK seaside resorts. It’s more famous for its history and relaxed nature than other resorts nearby.
Scarborough Castle is one of the fantastic family days out you can do with the dog. Dogs must stay on a lead.
The castles fantastic location has panoramic views over the coastline line. It’s a perfect family friendly adventure. You won’t need a book of ticket in advance. You can turn up snacks and hot drinks available at the castle.

You can try everything from paddle boarding, zip line, climbing wall, mini electric boats, fishing, sailing, and cycling. Well-behaved dogs are allowed on site but must be kept on a lead at all times.
You could even go one further and book accommodation at the water park. They have Lake View Lodge’s private hot tub, new for 2022.
Another unusual thing to do while staying in Scarborough is the North Bay Railway. It’s a hundred per cent dog friendly, and the dogs are even allowed to ride the train, although they do have to be kept on a short lead. The trains start mid-morning (10.40am) and run between Peasholm Station & Scalby Mills, near Scarborough Sea Life Center.
