Starting early on the foreshore in Staithes, the walk takes you to Port Mulgrave where you can look for remains of an era when the land was covered by a tropical sea.
There’s dinosaur bones and fossils from ammonites and pointed belemnites to the devil’s toenail. The walk covers a range of topics from foraging and edible plants on the foreshore, to the sea life in and around rockpools. At Sean’s fisherman’s hut you will be met by his wife Tricia where an alfresco lobster lunch around a roaring fire awaits you. You will return via the steep clifftop following the Cleveland Way back to Staithes in time for afternoon tea.
