This cottage is close to the delightful hamlet of Milnthorpe, where you will have access to plenty of local fare as well as a local pub that’s full of character (and local ales). You are also only a short walk away from the local river, the Kent, where you and your pup can take nice evening strolls.
Kendal itself is a memorable market town famous for its sweet treat, the mint cake! Milnthorpe is part of the town region, meaning you and your family can easily head on into the centre to explore local cafes, bookshops and more besides. It makes for a nice change of pace if you’ve explored all of the local greenery already!
Wider Kendal gives way to beautiful historic trails and castle walks, particularly up at local Sizergh, which is protected by the National Trust. If you’d prefer to visit the Lakes, you’re only a short drive away, with Scafell Pike closest to you.
This side of Cumbria is also famous for its lovely nature reserves, making for fascinating days out for all the family. You’ll likely want to take a look at the Whitbarrow Reserve for long walks, or further afield in Leighton Moss.
We think this area is a wonderful base for adventures across the National Parkland and the Cumbrian coast. It’s nice to get away from it all sometimes! Thankfully, you’re never too far away from conveniences if you need them – you are always well connected here!
Ghyll Cottage is a wonderful family retreat that may look classical on the outside, but inside, it’s an airy, inspiring home away from home. Yes – you can stay somewhere quaint and laid back, feel like you’re away from it all, and still have access to a Smart TV, dishwasher and everything in between!
The wonderful garden area is absolutely perfect for dining out on during the warmer months. Your patio is completely private here, too, meaning your pup can enjoy the fresh air in complete safety. It’s big enough for six people to comfortably kick back and relax.
The spacious, tasteful bedrooms here are absolutely exquisite. The hard part, of course, is getting to decide who sleeps where! Handily, the communal spaces are on the ground floor, with a large bathroom suite and separate WC close to the sleeping quarters.
Ghyll Cottage is a marvellously presented bolthole that will bring you closer to the Cumbrian dog walks you’ve been hearing so much about. Park off road and take some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! While you’re at it, lose none of the modern convenience – but gain plenty of peace and quiet for the whole family.
