1. Kirby Muxloe Castle

2. Great Central Railway

Hop aboard an authentic steam engine as you and your furry friend enjoy a trip through the heart of England. Trains run every weekend plus Bank Holidays on the country’s only main line heritage railway with a double track.

3. Conkers

Conkers is 120 acres of enchanting woodland deep in the National Forest. It is also home to one of the best adventure parks in England.

4. Market Bosworth

Market Bosworth is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is a quaint historic market town. Stay at one of the cottages nearby so you can experience what life is like in a small country town. The massive country park is an awesome place to enjoy a picnic, play with a frisbee and maybe kick a ball, feed the ducks or just relax on a blanket with a good book.

Why not hike through the stunning countryside and visit the Battle of Bosworth Heritage Centre. The town is full of restaurants and pubs. You will be able to take your pooch with you as some do allow dogs.

5. Belvoir Castle

Belvoir Castle majestically overlooks the Vale of Belvoir. This Grade l listed castle is situated in northeast Leicestershire and offers visitors of all ages a wealth of activities.
Opulent interiors, which include the King’s Room and Elizabeth Saloon. A collection of art and furniture offers a historical glimpse into the past. There are15,000 acres of grounds for the kids to play. It includes a Japanese Woodland, an adventure playground and a tearoom serving delicious cakes.

6. Melton Country Park

Only 10 minutes from the centre of Melton Mowbray, this huge park of over 130 acres is a great place for Fido to have fun. There are lovely woodland areas and plenty of open space for Fido to chase a ball or frisbee, activity trails for pets and their owners, plus a popular doggie assault course. You can enjoy a picnic on a fine day or stop at the cafe for refreshments.

7. Foxton Locks

Perfect for an afternoon stroll, with a long, medium or short walk to choose from. Over 4000 narrowboats pass through these locks each year and there are boat trips available. Why not pop into the Foxton Locks Inn, where you can join the K9 club for just £1 and receive a bowl of water and doggy treats in a special area of the restaurant set aside for dog owners.
