Things To Do in Kirkby on Bain
Nestling in a quiet corner of Lincolnshire, near a village in the Wolds of this unique corner of England. Escape the big city and take a break with your canine companions in the fresh air and open fields.
A half mile doggie walk takes you to your first country pub, with a casual atmosphere and outdoor seating, perfect for pooches. The nearby village of Kirkby on Bain sits on a river of that name, which feeds lots of local fisheries, as angling is very popular in this part of the world.
Country walks start right on your doorstep, and the land in this part of England is famously flat, so you won’t get too out of breath whichever direction you take.
Go for a short drive or long walk 3 miles to the west, and spend a morning or afternoon in Woodhall Spa. This unique town has an outdoor swimming pool, and is home to the National Golf Centre, if that’s your thing.
A ten minute drive south is Tattershall Castle, a National Trust property with a dramatic 15th Century castle, surrounded by grounds with a moat and bridges your furry friend will love exploring.
A short walk from the castle takes you to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre, where you’ll find the few surviving Lancaster bombers and Spitifire fighters.
The Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) lies to the north east of the cottage, and has miles of superb walks which are perfect for eager doggies.
Kirkby on Bain is also halfway between the historic cathedral city of Lincoln to the west and the traditional British seaside town of Skegness to the east.
Lincoln has a beautiful cathedral high on the hill, plus some great independent shops, restaurants and dog friendly pubs to visit. Skegness is a world famous resort which has lots to do at night as well as during the day.
Beech Cottage is a great place to get away from the noise and stress of the city, with good friends, family and of course your canine companion.
The cottage is detached, so you can relax and do your own thing. It has a lovely, airy feel with lots of natural light, and a garden which sits next to open fields which are typical of this huge farming country.
Take a walk from your front door, head off to the nearby country pub or into the village, and plan your days out. Woodhall Spa is a hidden gem which is well worth visiting, and nearby are beautiful Lincoln and the ever fabulous Skegness.
A superb cottage with so much to do right on your doorstep.
