Things To Do in Tattershall
Sitting next to its own fishing lake, this is an angler’s idea of heaven. Specially set aside to share with other anglers on a 1 acre fishing lake, so the fish are there waiting to be caught.
Carp, tench, chub, roach, rudd, bream, perch and orfe right at the bottom of the garden, so bring your own rods if you have them. Anglers and non anglers will love this superb cottage, a world away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
As well as the fishing lake, the River Bain joins the bigger Witham just down the road, and there is a network of canals in the area, with superb waterside walks to explore with your furry friends.
Tattershall is close to RAF Coningsby, which hosts the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre. See a real life Spitfire up close, and the Lancaster bomber, famed for its role in the Dambusters World War II raid.
A doggie walk away is the National Trust ran Tattershall Castle, which has acres of grounds for your furry friends to run around in, including a moat with bridges to explore. Close to both of these visitor attractions is a dog friendly country pub with outdoor seating.
Just to the north is Woodhall Spa, a lovely town with its own outdoor swimming pool. Nearby is the Kinema in the Woods, a converted sports pavilion with two cinema screens showing classic movies and new releases.
Golf lovers also have the chance to visit England Golf, the country’s national centre of excellence for the game.
A half hour drive to the west takes you to the city of Lincoln, which has fabulous independent shops nestling next to historic monuments from Roman times, not to mention unmissable Lincoln Cathedral. A similar drive eastwards takes you to Skegness, the world famous English seaside resort.
Caulton is a lovely country cottage, which anglers especially will love. Conceived as a fishing retreat, the private lake and nearby river system are just as attractive to dog owners and anyone who loves the countryside.
Spend time in the dog friendly local village pubs and eateries, before heading off along one of the paths through the open fields, or by the banks of a natural river or man made canal.
Tattershall is right on your doorstep, with two nationally important tourist attractions, and Woodhall Spa has lots of things to please people of all ages.
Spend a day exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), or take your pick between beautiful Lincoln and bracing Skegness. With all this at your fingertips, Caulton is the perfect holiday home, whether you fish or not.
