Things To Do in Heacham

The north coast of Norfolk has some of the longest stretches of sand in the UK so it’s the perfect place for playing on the beach and walking along the coast.

Hunstanton is home to a blue flag beach that goes on for miles. It’s lifeguarded during high season so is popular with families. In the town there are shops, cafes, ice-cream parlours galore, plus there are a few fun fair rides and amusements too.

The Sealife Centre here gives visitors the chance to get up close to rescued seals, penguins, otters and penguins. Wells-next-the-Sea, with its charming harbour and colourful beach huts, is a 30-minute drive along the coast. And for beaches where dogs can play all year long, Holme-next-the-Sea is the place to head.

Snettisham Park is a working farm where young and old can go on a deer safari. You can also feed the pigs and sheep, and collect fresh eggs from the barn. The Sandringham Estate is the Queen’s country home, and it’s open to the public during the summer. There’s the house, gardens and an exhibition to see, plus a tea room and gift shop as well.

Our Thoughts

North Norfolk is as pretty as a picture. The beaches are sandy with big blue skies that go on forever. There are nature reserves such as the one at Scolt Head Island where birds and wildlife can be spotted.

And with quaint villages dotted around that are crammed with historical cottages and traditional ways, there is something to discover at every turn.

If you like everything in one place, Searles Leisure Resort is ideal. There is a huge list of things to do onsite, and the beach and lively town are right on the doorstep.
