A choice of eateries and traditional Suffolk pubs can be found in every direction. With so much history in the local area, there are lots of places to visit such as Ickworth House, St Edmundsbury Abbey and the village of Lavenham.
And there is West Stow Country Park nearby with 125 acres of spectacular countryside for long walks with your dog.

This detached holiday home is next to the owner’s home and has a living area upstairs. With a double bed plus a single bed if requested, this is a spacious cottage for up to 3 people and one dog.
Downstairs, there is a wet room. On the first floor there is a sofa area with TV and DVD player, and a kitchen equipped with a cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and a washing machine.
Outside, the pretty garden has a lawn, a seating area, a bike store and a pond.

Things To Do in Wetherden
Wetherden is a lovely village in Suffolk that has a 14th-century church and the quintessential village hall. It’s only a few miles from Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds so there are plenty of things to see nearby.
Bury St Edmunds is a delightful city with a cathedral that dates back to the 14th century. There is an abbey here too with a well-kept garden that’s worth visiting.
There are lots of shops in the town with a selection on the high street and a new mall boasting chain stores. The twice-weekly market is popular, and the range of places where you can eat and drink is huge.
Lavenham nearby is a picturesque place that boasts half-timbered Tudor houses that appear to be leaning to one side. The Church at the heart of things is spectacular and is much-visited all year round – it’s regularly used as a movie backdrop. This village is a beautifully kept Medieval settlement with tea rooms and boutique gift shops to explore.
Take your doggy along to West Stow Anglo Saxon Village and Country Park – there are 125 acres of countryside to walk around here.
Trails, heathland and the River Lark make this a lovely place to spend the day. There is a museum, visitor centre and café, plus a reconstructed Anglo-Saxon village to tour.
For a day by the sea, drive to Felixstowe, it will take around 45 minutes. There’s a pier here for good-old-fashioned seaside fun, and a prom where you can walk for miles. A little further up the coast is Aldeburgh, famous for its music venue and craft shops.
Cherry Trees is the ideal place to book for a quiet time away from home. There is plenty of space for up to 3 people, and a large garden offers a lovely place to relax outside.
Bury St Edmunds is a 15-minute drive away for shopping, restaurants and a cathedral to explore. Newmarket, the home of the British horseracing scene, is within easy reach too if you fancy a day at the races.
The Suffolk coast is about 45 minutes away with a choice of towns worth a visit. Felixstowe has a pier and slot machines, and Southwold boasts beach huts and deckchairs.
