Things To Do in Gloucestershire

The Forest of Dean is beautiful and offers a choice of great places to walk with the dog. Symonds Yat is a popular location for hiking with several trails to try that are all clearly signposted. If you appreciate great art then wander the sculpture trail – it’s a 4-mile route that leads you past 3-D pieces that have been created especially for the forest.

The Dean Forest Railway is a 4.5-mile heritage line that runs from Lydney. There’s a museum, gift shop and a café at the station, and doggies can ride as a passenger to enjoy the day out with you.

Goodrich Castle is a great example of a Medieval fortification, and the walls and towers are still clearly visible in the ruins. Climb the battlements and check out the views and wander the grounds with your pooch.
