Things To Do in Elmley Castle, Pershore
Sitting in private grounds near the village of Elmley Castle, within easy reach of Evesham, Worcester and Cheltenham. This is a perfect cottage for families, friends and especially pet lovers to come and relax. The owner has set aside a walking field next to the cottage, which your furry friends can share with others on site, as long as you keep them on a lead at all times.
There are many signposted walks in and around the village, with one passing the end of the lane near the Lodge. The nearby villages of Elmley Castle, Bricklehampton and Little Comberton all straddle the road and are preserved as part of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
To the west you can see Bredon Hill, which is part of the AONB and a National Nature Reserve in its own right. Follow one of the lovely paths into the Park, and discover the amazing views, bounded by the River Avon in the west.
The area boasts numerous historic sites and settlements, including Elmley Castle, which has beautiful black and white timbered houses, and a canine friendly country pub with outdoor seating, perfect for rest and refreshment while you plan your next move.
The two lovely Worcestershire towns of Pershore and Evesham are a short drive away in beds in the River Avon, and have independent shops, pubs and restaurants perfect for spending a morning or afternoon enjoying.
A half hour drive to the north west lies Worcester, an historic cathedral city with superb walks by the River Severn, and many visitor attractions to keep people and pups happy all day.
The Lodge at Elmley Meadow is a pooch owners paradise, which is just as welcoming for those without canine companions. Set in open meadows, there is no better place to escape the stresses of modern life, and you can head off for a walk through the grass without a care in the world.
The nearby village of Elmley Castle is a superb starting point for a journey into the Cotswolds AONB, although you may be tempted to stay in the village with its Elizabethan feel. Pick up one of the many walking and cycling trails across the National Park, and take in the panoramic vistas from nearby Bredon Hill.
Enjoy the scores of historic landmarks across the area, including those in the beautiful city of Worcester. When paws and feet are tired, head home for a private barbecue on the patio.
