Ashlea is located on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border which makes it the perfect jumping off point for visiting the historical sites in the area. These include the six grand towers of Hardwick Hall, created by Bess of Hardwick in the 16th century.
Chatsworth House is also a short distance away and the sprawling grounds and magnificent estate are owned by the Duke of Devonshire and has remained in the Cavendish family since the mid-16th century. Nearby historical Chesterfield has a bustling market day that hosts many specialist and traditional stalls that are a wonder to peruse. The city’s 14th century church is famous for its crooked spire and attracts thousands of visitors a year.
Chesterfield leads you to the Peak District National Park that is perfect for rambling up the impressive tors or strolling down the dales with your loyal pup by your side.
