South Clifton is your traditional country village sporting shops, pubs and restaurants in and around the area. Take a stroll through the village to one of the many walking and biking trails in the area, great for tuckering out an energetic doggy before settling down in one of the nearby pubs for a hearty meal.
There are a number of other country villages dotted around that feature quaint old parish churches dating back centuries. South Clifton and the surrounds feature in The Doomsday Book but were more than likely much older settlements.

Historic Lincoln is also a short drive from South Clifton, where you can visit the famous Lincoln Cathedral, once the tallest building in the world from 1300 – 1549AD. This stunning cathedral is a perfect example of Gothic architecture and still holds services to this day. Directly opposite is Lincoln Castle, built by William the Conqueror in the late 11th century.
You can also see on of the remaining original copies of the Magna Carta in the New Magna Carta Centre nearby. The city is steeped in history and well worth a full day of exploration. It also boasts great opportunities for shopping and some of the best restaurants in the region situated on Steep Hill, overshadowed by the castle and cathedral.
