About Ruby Cottage
A terraced cottage in the village of Longnore, overlooking the surrounding Peak District National Park. Small enclosed south facing front garden with stone wall and partly enclosed rear garden area. One double bedroom on the first floor, shower room with shower cubicle and WC.
The cottage is an original part of the village, lovingly restored with comfy but stylish furniture, from leather sofa and chair to wooden dining set. Open plan living and dining area, with fully equipped kitchen.
You’ll be pleased to know that Ruby Cottage is doggie friendly. Bring along one well behaved pet for free.

Things To Do in Longnor, Buxton
Sitting in the elevated village of Longnor in the heart of the Peak District, with Buxton and Macclesfield within easy reach.
This original stone cottage has all the character you’d expect, including a small garden out front, enclosed by a low stone wall on a quiet village street.
There are 2 pubs around the corner, and the village has its own shop, post office and cafe. Longnor has a high elevation, and overlooks the stunning landscape all around. Head out for long walks with your four legged friend and explore the Peak District National Park.
To the south west, just down Leek Road, is the River Manifold, with its lovely tree-lined banks weaving through the surrounding farmland. To the north is the bigger River Dove, which meanders to Crowdecote, with its welcome country inn for refreshments.
For a drive out, head north up the A515 to the nearby town of Buxton. This is an historic spa town, and boasts a host of attractions for human and canine visitors alike. Take a tour around Buxton Park, with its riverside walks, Pavilion Gardens and Arts Centre, culminating in the superb, Edwardian Buxton Opera House.
Buxton also has a brewery and tap house for real ale enthusiasts, and there are plenty of retail outlets for retail therapy and stocking up during your holiday. In the National Park, which surrounds Buxton, there are lovely towns and villages a short drive away, including Bakewell, home of the famous sweet delicacy. The Peaks have hundreds of signposted walks and trails, with bike hire, pony trekking or watersports if the mood takes you.
Ruby Cottage is perfectly set up for a romantic break in an idyllic country village, or just as a place to spend some time unwinding and refreshing the batteries.
Relax in the cottage itself, sit out in the garden and enjoy the amazing scenery all around, or head off into the village for a meal and a drink, and soak up the atmosphere of the Peak District. Head off into the countryside for riverside walks, and you’ll always find somewhere to stop off to ease aching feet or paws.
Just a short drive takes you to Buxton, a hidden gem of a spa town enjoyed by the Edwardians, with an atmosphere to match. Drive further into the National Park to enjoy the wildlife, or head into Sheffield for some city living. Come home to the delights of a lovely stone cottage in the Peaks.
