Follow the road into Darley Dale, a beautifully laid out town based around Dale Road North. Pop into one of the two dog friendly pubs, or try some fish and chips in the town’s fish bar.
Take pooch for a spin around Broad Walk Park, or explore the grounds of nearby Stancliffe Hall, with its lovely woodlands for your furry friend to snuffle about in.
Back in Two Dales, follow Halldale Brook north along its wooded banks and you come out near Bent Lane, right on the edge of the Peak District National Park. For easier access, a short drive up Dale Road North takes you into the Park at Rowsley, a Peak village where the River Derwent meets the River Wye.
Just to the east, up the A6, is Haddon Hall, ancestral home of the Duke of Rutland, where your furry friend will love the Elizabethan gardens. To the north east is the more famous Chatsworth Hall, which is more family orientated.
Either stately home is right next door to the wonderful Peak District town of Bakewell, which is perfect for a morning or afternoon out.
There are some superb walks by the River Wye, and dog friendly eateries to enjoy, not forgetting to sample a taste of the world famous Bakewell Pudding while you’re there.
