Things To Do in Horderley
Burrills View in Horderley is the ideal spot for long walks in the country air, and here they are even possible without leaving the land upon which the cottage is located.
Located on the owner’s land, you can enjoy an afternoon of shooting in a specially organised range with no animals involved – shooting at fruit, apples and tin cans. Take a trip down to the River Onny which runs alongside the cottage for wild fishing or simply head out into the woodland with your children and pooch for a fantastic walk surrounded by nature.
If you can manage to tear yourself away from the cottage, Shropshire has some fantastic market towns to visit, Ludlow being one of them. Its imposing castle dating back to 1085 is located in the centre of town, and just like when it was originally constructed, it is still the heart of the town today.
Regular events take place or you can visit it for yourself to learn about its role in the town’s history. Ludlow has some excellent restaurants serving traditional English and international cuisine as well as fantastic pubs.
Ludlow’s St Laurence’s Church dates back to the Norman period and was described as the “cathedral of the Marches” by Simon Jenkins.
Make sure you pay a visit to see its beautiful stained glass windows, organ and its 15th century choir stalls and wander into the shop for unique gifts including paintings by local artists.
For a real adrenaline rush visit Condover which has an activity centre with low ropes, high ropes, laser tag and kayaking.
Set in the grounds of Condover Hall, a prestigious Elizabethan manor house, the activity centre has a plethora of activities for all ages. Try your hand at archery or test your ability to cast a spell in the popular Harry Potter themed spell room – an absolute must for those on holiday with children, young and old!
Burrills View is a fabulous holiday cottage offering luxury and attention to detail from the moment you check in.
From the generous welcome pack to the option to order home-cooked meals which are ready for your arrival after a day exploring the area, a holiday here is all about getting the most from your stay.
A stay here is akin to a five star catered holiday in a delightful stone cottage with comfy beds and two wood burners with logs supplied so you can just relax with a board game and a glass of wine after dinner.
Visit Ludlow for an escape to the past or for something a little bit more active than a woodland walk, enjoy a day out at Condover Hall.
Let the kids burn off some energy here during the day so you can relax with your pooch at your feet on an evening as they get a good night’s sleep.
