Things To Do in Wall Bank, Hope Bowdler

Situated near the pretty village of Hope Bowlder, The Old Barn is nestled on the owner’s private lands that feature rolling hills, woodlands, lakes and meadows – perfect for an energetic dog to run around and explore to their heart’s content. The lakes are stocked with fish so if you already have a fishing license, bring your tackle along and enjoy the most relaxing of sports, free of charge.

If you want to adventure beyond the bounds of the estate, you can walk along the hills of Hope Bowlder and Church Stretton for some stunning views of the countryside. The other towns and villages dotted around the area offer some interesting history and culture as well. The nearby town of Much Wenlock is where the modern olympic games was conceived and, along with the neighbouring Church Stretton, offer a great variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops to experience.

The historic towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Ironbridge are a short drive away and each has their own draws and attractions. Ludlow’s bustling street markets are a winner for foodies, as well as the number of Michelin starred restaurants in town.

Shrewsbury is known for its unique architecture and lovely riverside walks, a perfect way for the family and the puppy to relax of an evening. If you are more into adventure than town life, The River Severn is not far from the cottage where you can take boat trips, kayak or canoe from select locations along its banks. There are also shops, restaurants, and pubs closer to the cottage if you don’t want to stray too far out.
