Things To Do in Bradnop
Sitting next to a country lane on the doorstep of the Peak District National Park, near the Staffordshire village of Bradnop. Enjoy fresh air, peace and quiet away from the noise and stress of the big city, with one or two furry friends for company.
Head out for a walk straight from the cottage, and there’s miles of open countryside in all directions. Douse Lane, just to the south, leads east into the National Park, which is only a short drive or bike ride away.
Stop off in the Peak village of Onecote, where you’ll find a casual, family and dog friendly pub with outdoor seating.
Explore the National Park your own way, whether that’s walking with your furry friends, or doing one of the many more energetic activities like abseiling, gorge walking or kayaking.
To the north of Bradnop is the market town of Leek, which is full of character and has pooch friendly markets and butchers which sell superb local produce. Explore Brough Park, to the north of the town centre, with its tree lined paths and superb views across the Staffordshire Moors and the Peak District. Stop off in one of the many dog friendly pubs and cafes in the elegant town centre.
A short drive up the A53 from Leek takes you to the spa town of Buxton, which has lovely parks and waterside paths to enjoy with pooch. For a family day out, Alton Towers theme park has something to keep everyone happy.
This massive site is just a short drive south from Bradnop, and has nature walks and hidden hollows as well as nail biting rides for the braver members of your party. The major Staffordshire urban centre of Stoke-on-Trent is also just a 20 minute drive to the south west.
