Things To Do in Broadway

Broadway is commonly referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’ and rightly so. It’s a beautiful quaint little village complete with historic and beautiful mellow stone buildings that add to the rustic country feel of the village. It is a typical village of the Cotswolds with horse chestnut trees that line the high street, which provides a home to an eclectic mix of shops and amenities.

Broadway itself is soaked in a rich history, dating back to around the year 860, when it initially started to grow from the old church of St. Eadburgha’s. The Lygon Arms Hotel is worth a visit if you are going to visit Broadway. It hosted Oliver Cromwell himself as well as King Charles I on many occasions. If you want to know more about the town’s history, why not visit the Broadway Museum and Art Gallery.

Other things to do in Broadway include a state of the art Children’s Activity Park and Broadway tower. A bit further afield is the beautiful Stratford upon Avon, which of course was home to William Shakespeare and the town of Cheltenham, which throughout the summer is famously known as home to horse racing meetings that make for a great day or night out.
