A private hideaway with an open plan living and dining area, wood burner and exposed stone walls. Quiet gravelled sitting out area with garden furniture for taking in the big Northumbrian skies and lovely fresh air.
This is an original stone cottage with one double bedroom, the living area, kitchen and shower room all on one level. Contemporary furnishings complement a cosy, country feel throughout.
The great news for dog owners is that Stable Cottage is pet friendly. Up to 2 well behaved pooches are welcome to stay with you, and there’s no extra charge.

Things To Do in Acklington, Nr Amble
Nestled off the main road on a private site, home to a collection of stone cottages in the grounds of a real country inn. There’s a fully fitted kitchen in the cottage, but it’s likely you’ll be tempted by the delights of the gastro pub menu next door, not to mention cask ales and much else. For a romantic dinner, you couldn’t be any closer.
The village of Acklington lies round a bend in the road to the north east, and Acklington mainline train station is just down the road. This secluded spot is perfect for escaping the modern world, yet has everything you need nearby.
Take your furry friends out for a walk through the village, or head off north west and find the bridge over the River Coquet near Guyzance. There are some lovely wooded paths and banks to explore along the river, which is a real peaceful haven.
For days out, a short drive will take you to a host of heritage sites and fabulous nature trails. Just inland are Northumberland Country Zoo, and Forget Me Not Country Park, which will delight nature lovers. There is unique heritage to be found at the National Trust properties nearby. These include Wallington, which is home to Pre-Raphaelite masterpieces, and Cragside, home of the world’s first electrically-lit house.
To the east lies the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As well as superb clifftop and beach walks, the castles at Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh and Warkworth are all well worth a visit, not forgetting the historic Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
Stable Cottage at Railway Cottages is a lovely place to spend some quality time together. The wood burner in the corner of the exposed stone living room is bound to bring warm, cosy feelings, while you have your own country pub right next door.
The Northumbrian countryside is all around for human and canine visitors to explore, whether on foot up the River Coquet, or further afield along the beaches and cliffs of the AONB. Nearby towns like Warkworth and Amble are full of lovely shops, pubs and cafes to help you enjoy your days out, and there are many nationally important landmarks in the area.
Leave the car and get the train north to Alnwick, or south into Newcastle upon Tyne. For a special break for two (plus two), this delightful cottage in a fabulous part of the world couldn’t be better.
