The surrounding towns and villages are chock full of history and culture with castles, forts and estates dotting the landscape. Folly View is a short drive from Chillingham Castle with its wild cattle, Edlingham Castle ruins, and Howick Hall Gardens. If you are a keen angler, fishing is available in the area or why not visit the House of Hardy Fishing Tackle Museum in Alnwick. For nature lovers, there are a few smaller nature reserves such as Newton Pool and Linhope Spout. The boundary to The Northumberland National Park is close by too.
Just a short way to The Borders, Folly View really is situated perfectly to explore Northumberland. Local towns such Wooler and Alnwick have market days where you can peruse the local foods and crafts.
