Things To Do in Hapton
Lying near the Lancashire village of Hapton, which is in the middle of the fabulous countryside between Blackburn and Burnley. The village has a country pub which makes its own food, and is only a healthy walk away from the cottage. Whether you’re there as a couple or a larger group, you and your doggies if you have them have a great start or end point for days out.
This is Calderdale, so there are some fantastic walks to be had, along the riverbanks which criss cross the area. There are pubs dotted along the country lanes, so you’ll never be too far from a drink or bite to eat.
The Ribble Valley is just to the north west, so there are plenty of lovely villages and towns to visit. Spend a morning or afternoon in Clitheroe, Brockhall Village or Ribchester, and discover the great little shops and eateries which give the area its character. There is local food and drink to be bought as well as consumed, as well as fabulous views to take in along the way. Down the river via the A59 is Preston, a lovely county town with every provision you’d need. Spend a day visiting the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, or take in Avenham and Miller Park by the river.
There are plenty of golf courses in the area, if that’s your bag, and the Ribble and Alt Estuaries is a superb nature reserve. Humans and hounds alike will love the area.
