Things To Do in Flamborough
Sitting in the middle of the fishing town of Flamborough, in the heart of the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast. The town has all the amenities you’ll need, including a pub, restaurant and shops only yards away. The whole area is surrounded by sea, and there are some spectacular views and cliff top walks to enjoy.
This part of Flamborough still retains its feel as a fishing town, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. If you like fish and chips, you’ll love Flamborough, and no doubt your four legged friend will, too.
Within a mile of the town are the beaches of North Landing and South Landing, which should be easily reachable after a brisk walk along the headland. Don’t miss Flamborough Lighthouse, which has a gift shop, family restaurant and cafe bar. On the way to this site, you’ll pass the original, 17th century lighthouse, which has some truly spectacular views out to sea.
The nature reserve is famous for its bird populations, and bird watchers come from all over the world to visit for this reason. Here you’ll see guillemots and puffins, so bring the camera. The Heritage Coast also has excellent visitor amenities, as well as signposted walks to follow.
For groups with kids, nearby Sewerby Hall is an excellent place to spend a day out. Just to the west of Flamborough, this is a Georgian country manor, with its own zoo and woodland walks. There’s also a cafe to keep everyone refreshed. Sewerby lies to the east of Bridlington, a lovely seaside town holiday resort.
Coble Cottage is a fabulous family cottage with a town centre location. It has its original open fire, cosy living room, and wood burner in the dining room.
The kitchen is fully equipped, right next to the dining table and chairs, so it’s perfect for home made cooking and evenings in. However, with the choice of local pubs and restaurants on your doorstep, you might be tempted to spend the evenings out.
The cottage is also perfectly placed as a base for exploring the fabulous surrounding countryside, and stunning views from Flamborough Head. People and pets alike will be spoilt for choice of bracing clifftop walks, plus the lovely local eateries along the way.
The pollution of the city is a long way away from Coble Cottage, and it’s a great place to recharge the batteries with family and friends.
