Things To Do in Flamborough, Sewerby
Nestled in the old fishing town of Flamborough, and 4 miles away from the seaside town of Bridlington. A town centre location, with pubs, cafes, shops and restaurants all within walking distance from the cottage. Flamborough itself is well worth having a look round, with its spire in the town centre, and two lighthouses out on the chalk cliffs.
An energetic pet will love the clifftop walks just on the doorstep, as well as the beaches at North Landing and South Landing.
The surrounding area is the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast, a nature reserve which is home to nesting puffins and guillemots, so nature lovers should remember to take a camera. Bempton Cliffs are especially dramatic between April and July, when the puffins rear their young.
Another nature reserve nearby is Danes Dyke, which a furry friend will love exploring, although it is rather steep in places. This attraction is on the way to Sewerby Hall and Gardens, which lie just to the west of Flamborough Head. A perfect place for a day out with the kids and doggie, the Hall sits in 50 acres of land, which includes plenty of woodland walks. Sewerby also has a zoo, and the hall itself is a masterpiece of Georgian architecture.
To the south west lies Bridlington, which is a perfectly traditional British seaside town. Just a short drive from Flamborough, Bridlington is a working fishing port, but is also home to seaside favourites like donkey rides on the beach, not to mention superb fish and chips. There’s also a pirate boat for the kids, plus lots of pubs and cafes.
Freya Cottage is a cosy cottage in the heart of a charming town full of history, with nature all around for adults, kids and doggie all to enjoy. The cottage itself has everything you’d expect from a modern home, including a fully fitted kitchen, plus there’s a private patio to sit out in for breakfast or in the evenings.
Flamborough is blessed with lots of lovely pubs, restaurants and shops, so you’ll never run out of supplies or places to go for refreshments, for people and pup alike.
Enjoy the nature reserve which surrounds the town, and take in the dramatic chalk cliffs, with their world famous puffin colonies. Enjoy the fresh air and miles of walks in the area, or take a day trip to Bridlington. Freya Cottage has everything for a perfect seaside break.
