Things To Do in Balderton, Chester
Sitting in 18 acres of the beautiful Cheshire countryside, just a short distance from the Welsh border. Common Farm offers the visitor so much to do that you may not feel the need to leave the grounds. Equine enthusiasts especially will love this setting, as it offers horse riding lessons, and has an Olympic standard dressage area.
The cottage itself is based around a 300 year old original family home, with original thick brick walls and superb beamwork. This has been extended to include the very latest of gaming rooms, plus a snooker table and home cinema. Two or three families could easily enjoy themselves in comfort without leaving the house.
Apart from horse riding, the local area is home to some beautiful, unspoilt countryside, which is ideal for any furry friends to explore under supervision. Nearby is Chester Lakes, which has a kids play area and lots of great fishing, for any keen anglers in your party. To the west, through the village of Lower Kinnerton, lies the Welsh border, followed by the lovely pubs of High Kinnerton in Wales. Also nearby is Outpost Paintball Chester, which will take your bookings for those who like to de-stress without hurting anybody. Just to the north is the North Wales Autograss Club, a rough and tumble racetrack which is great for an adrenaline filled day out.
Historic Chester is only a short drive away from Balderton, north up Lache Lane or via the A483. Great for a day’s sightseeing, Chester has historic sights and walks to offer, plus lovely shops to stock up on luxuries and provisions.
Book a holiday at Common Farm and you may be tempted to stay on site for the whole of your holiday. Especially popular with budding horse riders, both the house itself and its surrounding 18 acres of land make it a unique country break destination.
With enough rooms for young, not so young, human and canine companions to rub along smoothly, this detached rural home should have something to offer everybody. Games consoles, home cinema and snooker table should please all the generations, while the wood burners in original fireplaces are the ideal focus for quiet nights in, chatting with a glass of something.
If you do decide to wander further afield, the Welsh borderlands and historic city of Chester are just on the doorstep, for healthy walks or other exciting days out for adults, kids and pooches.
