You might wonder if it’s Ok to leave a dog in your accommodation; in most cases, the answer is no! Every park will have its own specific rules, but generally, it is not advised to leave a dog in a caravan. Dogs can become very stressed when left alone in a strange place; not only is this not nice for them, it can cause them to be destructive or start barking.
The second issue is your dog’s safety. Accommodation can become extremely hot in the summer and, like cars, potentially fatal for our four-legged friends. If the park allows it, and they have their own crate, it may be possible for short periods.
So, can you take your dog to Butlins? Dogs are not permitted at Butlins resorts; they can be kept in the dog friendly accommodation at Minehead and Skegness, but there are restrictions and they are not allowed into the main park. They also reserve the right to ask any owner whose dog misbehaves to leave.
Yes, you can take dogs on Haven Holidays. In fact, 33 of Haven’s pet friendly holiday parks accept up to two dogs in designated accommodation at the time of writing. Lots are close to beautiful dog friendly beaches and some even have doggy play areas. They aren’t allowed in the restaurants, entertainment or pool areas. A Cornwall holiday is there most popular option as the south west is a great base for dogs.
You can take dogs to Centre Parcs; by nature, they are a doggy paradise with woodland walking opportunities galore. Some parks even have designated areas for your canine companion to run and play. There are a couple of things to keep in mind. Fido must be kept on his leash at all times, obviously, you need to take a poop scoop and some areas, like the pool and spa, are off-limits.
Parkdean is dog-friendly, so you can take your dog to Parkdean Resorts with a reasonable weekly charge of £40 per pooch, excluding guide dogs. With caravan parks from the Cornish coast to Northumberland, just be sure to keep your furry pal off the furniture and beds.
No, you can’t just take a motorhome on the parks; some may have a touring section (it will be separate), but in general pet welcoming caravan parks are for static options.
Dog friendly holidays come down to personal choice, be it on one of the many pet friendly holiday parks, secluded woodland accommodation in Scotland or holiday parks in Cornwall close the the sea. Whichever you choose, we know that spending quality time with your pets on holiday is the best way to unwind.
