Things To Do in Leith Hill, Nr Dorking
Leith Hill Place and Tower are a must-see site simply for their links to Charles Darwin who undertook experiments in the ground of this now National Trust site. The highest point in the south of England, the heathland, woodland and farmland of the Surrey Hills are ideal for exploring with your dog.
The hamlet of Shere, just minutes away has featured in films such as The Holiday, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones, and The Wedding Date.
With a 13th century church, quaint tea rooms and a welcoming local pub, Shere is the perfect place to venture to when you fancy a walk out with your canine friend.
The town of Guildford, is just twenty minutes from Tanhurst Cottage by car and offers a wide range of shopping opportunities as well as restaurants serving international food, from Thai to Indian and everything in between.
The Guildford Farmers Market takes place once a month but there are two weekly markets held on Friday and Saturday for stocking up on fantastic produce and household goods for those who can’t stay for a whole month. Guildford is also home to a lido, indoor pool and the Spectrum Leisure Centre, ideal for those travelling with children who love a splash in a pool when on holiday.
