Blue Pool. The enchanting Blue Pool is an extraordinary attraction in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck. It is set in tranquil woodland between Wareham and Corfe Castle. This stunning feature started as a clay pit in the 17th century. The microscopic particles of the clay give the pool its constantly changing colours from greys to greens to blues. Christchurch Castle

Christchurch Castle is the remains of Norman Motte and Bailey castle set overlooking the town and River Avon below. The site contains “Constables House”, a rare example of an early 12th-century Norman dwelling.

The Norman castle was originally built to protect the town and river access to Wessex. The castle itself sits within the Saxon fort walls that were used to build the castle motte. A community flourished during the 12th century in and around the castle. What is left makes for an interesting walk for you and your dog.

Durlston Country Park

Durlston Country Park and Marine Project is a 280-acre countryside paradise. It consists of sea-cliffs, coastal limestone down land, hay meadows, hedgerows and woodland. It is home to 33 species of butterfly, over 250 species of bird, 500 wildflowers, 500 moths and thousands of invertebrates. The sea cliffs form part of the Jurassic Coast. Most of Durlston Country park consists of calcareous grassland created around a thousand years ago when the oak forest was cleared. There are walking paths that criss-cross the park. Enjoy walks with your dog. You must sit back and relax, and you will hear the amazing sounds of birds and the wind whistling through the trees.

You can rent a cottage near Poole Park and its ideal for walks as it is a large public park opposite Poole harbour. It consists of several man-made lakes and is a conservation area.
