Torquay, just a few miles up the coast, has a harbour, an aquarium, a huge ferris wheel and the Kent Caves. Brixham has a fishing history, and in the town there’s a museum, boat tours, fishing trips and great restaurants on the harbour side.
For walks in nature, Dartmoor is close by where the wild countryside gives you plenty of space to roam. And Berry Head nature reserve boasts the largest colony of guillemots, and you can spot cirl buntings and sparrowhawks as well.
