Things To Do in Kingswear
Garden View very much lives up to its name. The lower ground floor apartment looks out onto a fabulous garden, which in turn gives way to the vista of Brixham Harbour.
Right next to Brixham is the Churston Golf Course, in case you can find a sitter for your canine companion. Brixham itself is full of chances to shop for local delicacies, and there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Garden View’s central location means there are shops, pubs and restaurants all within a mile. Being in town is a great way to end the day after exploring the many local landmarks with your four legged friends.
Away from Tor Bay, to the west from Brixham, is the estuary of the River Dart. Overlooking this are the twin fortresses of Dartmouth and Kingswear. Dartmouth Castle is particularly beautiful, standing tall over the water. English Heritage run the castle, making it perfect for visitors most of the year round. There is a ferry between Kingswear and Dartmouth, which is easily accessible for dogs and their owners.
The Dart estuary is at the Eastern end of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Within doggie walking distance of Brixham in the AONB is the National Trust’s Coleton Fishacre House and Gardens. This unique attraction was built in the 1920s as a country house by the Gilbert and Sullivan impresario D’Oyly Carte. Further down the coast to the west is Blackpool Sands. This privately-run stretch of beach has water sports aplenty, not to mention rock pools for the curious canine to explore.
Garden View in Brixham is a unique holiday home which offers a range of choices. The sofa-bed in the lounge means a third person can stay in great comfort, while the twin beds can work for couples or non-couples.
The ability to take two dogs will appeal to many visitors, and the central location is especially convenient. The open plan arrangement works beautifully with the patio and garden. Further afield, the surrounding AONB, English Riviera and hundreds of visitor attractions give even more choice.
As a quiet getaway or base for bigger adventures, Garden View is a very special holiday destination.
