Things To Do in Plymouth
This superb barn conversion holiday home is located in a tiny Devon hamlet in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
To the south of Heybrook Bay is Wembury Point. If you’re out for a coastal walk with your doggie friend, this is an excellent place to visit. This clifftop promontory has superb sea views all around, from Wembury Bay in the south to the wide expanse of the Tamar Estuary and Plymouth Sound.
Plymouth lies away to the north west, and the Sound houses the awesome Plymouth Breakwater Fort. Following the coast eastwards with your canine companion, you come to the village of Wembury itself. This perfect Devon village oozes character, and also has plenty of shops, places to eat and sights to see.
Outside of Wembury, there is the beauty of the South Devon AONB to explore, all the way round past Bantham and Salcombe to the beautiful coastal resort of Dartmouth. Going west across Plymouth sound lies Cornwall, which has its own charms for the dog owner, sightseer and healthy adventurer. The Polperro Heritage coast lies to the south west, past the historic fishing port of Looe.
Of course, this part of south Devon is dominated by Plymouth. This fabulous city has hundreds of years of history, and is particularly associated with sea faring. The old town still has its original winding cobbled streets, which your dog will love exploring.
This cottage is a perfect destination for holidaying couples with a canine companion. Its self contained features make it ideal any time of the year, with gas central heating a real bargain in the winter.
Famous attractions also include the National Marine Aquarium, home to rays and sharks. Plymouth represents at least a day out in itself.
Whether you’re after a romantic break or a longer holiday, Ocean Retreat will stay with you for a long time.
