Things To Do in Tavistock
The River Tamar meanders along the border between Devon and Cornwall, and Horsebridge is a crossing point of the river. With 2 counties to discover, you are spoilt for choice for things to do.
The Tamar Valley is a nature-lovers paradise, and with 25km of different hiking trails to follow, you can walk with your doggy best friend for hours. As well as wandering on foot, you can cycle, horse ride, canoe and geocache in the valley, plus there’s Tree Surfers, an activity centre where you can climb high ropes and zip line through the woods.
A few miles from the property there’s a National Trust Tudor house and estate called Cotohele. Along with the splendid building housing 4 floors of historical items, there’s 1200 acres of gardens and woodland to walk with your pup. A working mill, gift shop, café and a quay area are also part of the grounds here. Launceston is 10 miles away, once the capital of Cornwall, it has a ruined castle, a range of shops, restaurants, bars and a narrow-gauge steam railway.
