Peckmoor Farm Lodges are part of a working farm which sits in 350 acres of Somerset countryside. There are sheep and horses in the fields surrounding the lodges, so children and four legged friends will love this back to nature setting.
There are countless paths, trails and bridleways nearby, so your four legged friends will never be short of space to stretch their legs, and neither will you. This part of the Somerset / Dorset border is extremely popular with ramblers, so get used to saying hello to people.
Just to the south lies the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which stretches all the way to the South coast. You and your furry friend or friends can access the park directly from the Farm, or take a drive deeper into the AONB for a planned day out.
The coast itself home to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, which stretches from Studland Bay in Dorset, west to Exmouth in Devon. There are plenty of world famous landmarks along the Coast, including Man O’ War beach, one of the many secluded beaches your doggie companion will love exploring. There are also plenty of hill walks within the AONB, some of them more trying than others. If you’re feeling energetic, try Golden Cap, which is both a hill and a cliff, and stands 191 metres above sea level for one of the best views in England.
Local towns near the accommodation include the uniquely charming Crewkerne, which has a character all its own. Further afield are Beaminster and Lyme Regis, as well as the Somerset capital of Yeovil. All of these have plenty of doggie delights, and the chance to shop, eat and drink all you could possibly want.
The lodges could be ideal for a private getaway for two, or a busier family holiday. The private hot tub overlooking unspoiled countryside is certainly romantic, especially on starlight, very dark nights.
During the day, the Farm itself has plenty to explore for two and four legged friends alike, and you can feel part of a working organic farm in the process. This is just part of the glorious Somerset / Devon border, which is open for exploring, and home to natural and man made visitor attractions.
