On the ground floor, the rustic living room features a wood burning fire, sofa area and TV. The kitchen-diner has a cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dryer, plus a pine table and chairs.
Outside there is a patio with seating and a barbecue, and guests have use of the owner’s 12-acre grounds.

Things To Do in Hambridge, Longport
The village of Hambridge is just minutes from Longport, an ancient market town in the Somerset Levels. It sits on the River Parrett and connects most of the surrounding villages.
All the shops and facilities you need on holiday can be found in Longport. A butcher, baker and chemist are there, a few retail shops and a handful of great places to eat and drink. Take long walks along the river with your doggy, and hike up The Hill – the oldest part of town.
You can explore all around on foot and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Glastonbury is around 15 miles away – this spiritual place is famous for its festival but there are lovely shops and cafes to visit in the town. The Tor is a must-see site – it’s a steep hill with a tower on the top.
Climb up here with the dog and take in the amazing views to all sides. The town of Wellington is within striking distance, named after the Duke, it was a prosperous place in the 18th century thanks to the woollen mill here. The museum has lots of interesting artefacts and the elegant Victorian architecture is pretty as a picture.
In Taunton there is a wide range of shops, and on Silver Street the an antique market boasts 3 crammed floors of collectibles, furniture, art and ceramics to name just a little of what’s on offer. At West Somerset Railway you can ride on a steam trains through 20 miles of countryside on this heritage line.
You can stay onboard all the way to Minehead and take a paddle in the sea. Or tour Dunster Castle, it’s dog friendly. Perched on a hill it is National Trust owned an incredible place to visit with medieval stables and a working water wheel.
For time away in Somerset, Shire House has exactly what a couple wants in a holiday home. It has rustic touches, like stone walls and beams, but is fitted with all the mod cons of the 21st-century.
A dog is welcome here so you can all go away together and explore the great places to walk nearby. Longport has a lovely river where you can stroll for hours on end, and at Glastonbury, the Tor offers a hike to the top if you long for a challenge. For a trip to the seaside, head to Minehead, you can get there by car or steam train.
And if you love a castle, then there are several to choose from including Dunster, Sherborne and the Bishop’s Palace in Wells.
