With direct access to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, long walks next to the sea are popular in this part of Wales. With a choice of 200 different routes, there’s a path to suit everyone’s needs.
Fishguard is a lovely village divided into two parts. The lower town has a small harbour, and the upper town stands at the top of the cliff. There are plenty of places to eat here, with pubs, cafes and restaurants a plenty. In the Town Hall, a tapestry 100 feet long depicts the last UK invasion of 1797 and is reminiscent of the famous Bayeux Tapestry.
Pembrokeshire has so many beaches, a day spent on the sands is a must. You can select the type of beach you prefer, from long and lively to tiny and peaceful. Travel to the west, and visit St Davids. With a handsome cathedral, this is the smallest city in Britain and is the last resting place of the patron saint of Wales. It is a pretty town full of character and there’s a wonderful art gallery to see.
