Things To Do in Fishguard

Surrounded by vast ocean views and long coastal paths, this is an ideal spot for a seaside adventure with your dogs.

With direct access to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, long walks next to the sea are popular in this part of Wales. With a choice of 200 different routes, there’s a path to suit everyone’s needs.

Fishguard is a lovely village divided into two parts. The lower town has a small harbour, and the upper town stands at the top of the cliff. There are plenty of places to eat here, with pubs, cafes and restaurants a plenty. In the Town Hall, a tapestry 100 feet long depicts the last UK invasion of 1797 and is reminiscent of the famous Bayeux Tapestry.

Pembrokeshire has so many beaches, a day spent on the sands is a must. You can select the type of beach you prefer, from long and lively to tiny and peaceful. Travel to the west, and visit St Davids. With a handsome cathedral, this is the smallest city in Britain and is the last resting place of the patron saint of Wales. It is a pretty town full of character and there’s a wonderful art gallery to see.

Our Thoughts

Pembrokeshire is a stunning area to visit. With a beautiful national park, Blue Flag beaches, quaint villages and pretty harbours all within easy reach, you can do something different every day.

The 186-mile Coastal Path offers plenty of space to walk the dog while enjoying the incredible scenery on offer.

The accommodation at Fishguard Bay Resort is comfy and modern with all the mod cons. Book one with a hot tub too for a little luxurious extra.
