Things To Do in Glyngarth
Your holiday should not go without a Beaumaris sunrise. Make your coffee in The Ridge’s swish kitchen and go out onto the deck. Beaumaris lies at the east entrance to the Menai Strait on Anglesey.
Your faithful friend is likely to be by your side as you witness the ripple and glitter of the water in the early morning light and on a clear dawn you will witness a burst of sun as it hits the stones creating an air of enchantment.
Take your dog down to seafront where there will be fisherman powering up their boats. Take a stroll on the pier to take in the view of Snowdonia in the distance and walk through the streets of Beaumaris (Norman for “fair marsh”) with its picture perfect cottages painted in soft pastels.
There are countless places to visit on the 125-mile coastal path with your dog. Check out its Geo Trail by going to www.geomon.co.uk to download a map that takes in one of the largest collection of ancient sites in Britain.
Chartered boat trips to the islets off Anglesey will increase your chances of seeing puffins, razorbills, otters, seals and even dolphins. There are also a number of water-based activities such as rib rides and wind sailing.
Visit the Copper Kingdom Centre in Amlwch Port, which explores sites dating back to the Bronze Age. At one time Parys Mountain produced more copper than any mine in the world. The copper from this mine coated the warships of the Royal Navy at Trafalgar in 1805.
If you can drag yourself away from the luxury of The Ridge there is just so much to see and do on Anglesey that you will be spoilt for choice.
This is certain to be a holiday you won’t forget, made all the better because you can bring your dogs along to enjoy it with you.
